This limited-release whiskey is a sumptuous marriage of rye whiskeys finished in port wine barrels. This 750mL bottle of blended whiskey is aged in charred white oak barrels prior to finishing. This process gives it uncompromising flavor, with the rye forming a base of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon, while the port barrels add notes of plum, dried fruit, and spice. With its aromas of muddled blackberry, honey-poached fig, chocolate-covered cherry, toasted marshmallow, gentian root, star anise, hoisin sauce, and well-worn leather, this port-finished whiskey evokes feelings of being wrapped up in a warm blanket by the fire on a crisp evening. On the palate, this aged whiskey is brimming with flavors of plum, blackberry, orange peel, toffee, fresh date, cinnamon strudel, brown sugar, and thyme leaf.
