Every holiday season, I’m joyfully reminded of the role Kroger plays in the lives of our nearly half a million associates, as well as the more than 11 million customers who shop in our stores daily, and the millions more who engage with us through the Kroger app and at Kroger.com for grocery pickup, delivery and ship. Just this morning when I was in our newly remodeled Anderson Township store in Cincinnati, I loved seeing the smiling eyes of associates and customers plus the beautiful holiday displays.
This is truly one of my favorite times of the year, because everyone celebrates it with their own delicious food. Personally, my wife and I can’t wait to make a batch of our highly coveted fudge (my Mother’s recipe adjusted a little)!
But as we all know, this year is different. Given the many challenges of 2020, this year is about more than holiday cheer and celebration; it’s about protecting ourselves and uplifting each other. It’s about remaining optimistic in spite of the many obstacles we’re all navigating.
It’s been a humbling year to say the least, and I have deep appreciation for each of our associates, from those who work in our stores, pharmacies and food production facilities to our distribution centers, customer support hubs and offices. I’m so proud of our team and all we’ve accomplished.
Thank you to every customer for shopping with us and for choosing us as your grocery store. I wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season. And remember, together, we can slow the spread of COVID-19 while protecting ourselves and each other. Please remember to wash your hands frequently, socially distance and wear a mask.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,
Rodney McMullen, Chairman and CEO

As I celebrated Thanksgiving last week with my wife, – a smaller celebration than most previous years – I reflected on how challenging this year has been, but also how remarkable it has been to witness and experience the coming together of every Kroger associate. We’ve come together to achieve Our Purpose to Feed the Human Spirit, and we’re here for our communities when they need us most, especially right now during the holidays. Thank you for letting Kroger play a part in your festivities, and I hope you safely enjoyed your Thanksgiving.
As we near the winter season, the well being and safety of our associates and customers remains our top priority. Our pharmacies and clinics offer flu shots as well as diagnostic COVID-19 testing. And if you haven’t downloaded it yet, be sure to check out our OptUP nutrition app, which makes it easier to shop for better for you food and manage your choices. You can visit Kroger.com/health to learn more about the app and COVID-19 testing, and to schedule an appointment for a flu shot.
Since the start of the public health crisis, we’ve implemented more than 30 policy and safety measures. When you shop in our stores during the holidays, we ask that you always wear a mask, and I encourage you to wear one when you’re out elsewhere, too. We continue to limit the number of people in our stores and frequently clean surfaces that are touched often. If you like shopping online or through the Kroger app, pickup remains free on orders of $35 or more, and we continue to offer no-contact delivery.
During this season of giving and reflection, let’s practice generosity and healthy habits like frequent handwashing, social distancing and mask wearing. Together, if we remain mindful and aware, we can slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect ourselves and each other.
Thank you for shopping with us, and for being a loyal customer.
Sincerely,
Rodney McMullen , Chairman and CEO

We know that many families are thinking about the holidays differently this year, and about half of our customers are planning to celebrate Thanksgiving at home with only those in their household. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy one of the most wonderful times of the year safely…and with great food.
From home chefs who know their way around the kitchen to amateur cooks who may be preparing a turkey for the first time, we’re here to help. We have all the fresh ingredients and products, including lots of turkeys and side dishes, to create a delicious and memorable meal experience. You can visit Kroger.com or use the Kroger app to discover recipes and inspiration.
As the country experiences an increase in COVID-19 cases, we’re proactively implementing purchase limits of two per customer per trip on products like toilet paper, paper towels, disinfecting wipes and hand soap. Although we’re reinstating these limits, please know that our supply chain is strong, and we’re replenishing our stores daily to ensure that the supplies and products you need are available.
The safety of our associates and customers is always our top priority. Since the start of the public health crisis, we’ve implemented more than 30 policy and safety measures. When you shop in our stores, we ask that you always wear a mask and practice physical distancing. If you like shopping online or through the Kroger app, pickup remains free on orders of $35 or more, and we continue to offer no-contact delivery.
This Thanksgiving, I’m most grateful for our nearly 500,000 associates, who continue to protect each other and our customers while serving our communities when they need us most.
Thank you for shopping with us, and for being a loyal customer.
Sincerely,
Rodney McMullen Chairman and CEO

COVID-19 has altered the way we shop, eat and celebrate special moments, and this holiday season will be no exception. We know some customers will be creating new traditions this year by staying home, making different recipes and gathering with smaller groups. But, no matter how you choose to celebrate the holidays, we know it will still center around fresh, delicious food. As always, we look forward to offering you a wide selection of affordable ingredients and options.
Our most urgent priority throughout this public health crisis remains the same. We’re committed to providing a safe and helpful environment for our associates and customers with open stores, alternative ways to shop like pickup and delivery, and an efficiently operating supply chain so that our communities have access to fresh food and essentials every day.
I’m so proud of our dedicated associates who are serving our customers when they need us most. Since March, we’ve invested over $1 billion to reward our associates and improve safety measures. As we enter the holiday season, we’ll continue to reward and recognize our associates and take steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Collectively, we’ve implemented more than 30 policy and process changes to protect our associates and customers. Additionally, they now have access to a variety of COVID-19 testing resources through Kroger Health’s portfolio of in-clinic and at-home diagnostic tests. Last week, Kroger Health announced the launch of rapid antibody testing to help inform patients if they’ve previously been infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Kroger is the first U.S. retailer to offer this testing service, and this reinforces our commitment to slowing the spread of COVID-19. You can support this effort by continuing to practice safe and healthy habits like wearing a mask, frequent handwashing and social distancing.
Last week, we also introduced our Framework for Action: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion plan. We welcome you to read the new plan that was developed in collaboration with our associates, leaders and communities.
Thank you for shopping with us, and for being a loyal customer.
Sincerely,
Rodney McMullen Chairman and CEO
