Grassroots & Disaster Relief: Our commitment to being a Good Neighbor is the largest grant-making focus of the Ralphs Fund. These grants are recommended by our stores and address local needs. In times of emergency, the Ralphs Fund also provides grants to the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and other local disaster relief agencies.
Where does the money come from?
Making Your Change Count: It all begins when you drop your spare change in the donation canisters at the check stands. All that spare change adds up … to nearly $1 million a year! And the best part is that the money you donate stays in your community. In 2008, that meant more than $1 million in grants throughout Southern California.
Team Member Contributions: Thanks to the thousands of Ralphs Team Members who donate generously, most through payroll deductions, many community grants can be awarded. In 2008, Ralphs Team Members donated more than $500,000 to the Ralphs Fund.
The Kroger Co. Foundation: Our parent company, Kroger, also supports the communities we serve by donating more than $100,000 to the Ralphs Fund every year.
