How does the fuel program work?
The fuel program allows you to earn up to 20¢ per gallon on fuel purchases at Ralphs and at participating Shell Stations. For 100 fuel points redeemed at Ralphs, 10¢ per gallon will be awarded. For 200 fuel points redeemed at Ralphs, 20¢ per gallon will be awarded. Limit 35 gallons of fuel per purchase. Credit and debit card fraud prevention policies may limit transaction at the dispenser. Offer cannot be combined with any other discounts.
For example:
- 100 fuel points = 10¢ per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Ralphs or participating Shell Stations.
- 200 fuel points = 20¢ per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Ralphs or participating Shell Stations.
How do I earn fuel points?
There are four easy ways to earn fuel points in Ralphs stores every day:
- Spending on Groceries (normal exclusions apply): $1 in Groceries = 1 fuel point
- Double fuel points for Gift Card purchases (normal exclusions apply). For example, $25 in Gift Cards = 50 fuel points
- Every Prescription earns fuel points.
- Earn 5 fuel points for every Reusable Bag used at checkout - up to 10 bags per transaction.
Do Gift Card purchases count toward fuel points?
Yes. Gift Card purchases count 2X toward your fuel points monthly balance, with the exception of Ralphs and Kroger Family of Stores Gift Cards, Green Dot prepaid reloadable products, MoneyPaks, American Express Variable Load Gift Cards, Visa Variable Load Gift Cards, and MasterCard Variable Load Gift Cards. Is there a limit to how many fuel points I can earn?
No, there is not a limit on the number of fuel points you can earn.
How do I use my fuel points at a Ralphs fuel pump?
To use your points at a Ralphs fuel center, simply scan your rewards Card under the card scan or key in your Alt-Id on the key pad. After presenting form of payment, you will be prompted to how you would like your discount applied if you have more than 100 points in either this month’s balance or last month’s balance.
How does the process at the Shell pump work?
- If paying inside, see cashier BEFORE inserting your Ralphs rewards Card.
- BEFORE you insert your payment card, follow the screen prompts to initiate the Ralphs discount process.
- Insert your Ralphs rewards Card, or manually enter your alternate ID or your Ralphs rewards Card number found on the back of your Ralphs rewards Card, your Ralphs rewards plus Visa® Card or key fob.
- Select your form of payment and fuel grade.
- Save up to 10¢ per gallon up to a maximum of 35 gallons of fuel on a single purchase. Credit and debit card fraud prevention policies may limit transactions at the dispenser.
I scan my Shopper's Card at Ralphs stores. Why can’t I scan it at Shell?
Shell Stations fuel dispensers don’t have scanning technology. To get the discount, either insert your large Ralphs rewards Card or enter your number found on the back of your card or key fob. You can also enter your alternate ID. Remember, your alternate ID and/or phone number must be registered with Ralphs in order for them to work properly.
Can I choose not to use my discount at the fuel pump?
Yes. Here’s how you can save your discount for later.
At Shell Stations - If you do not want to use your savings at the fuel pump, do not insert your Ralphs rewards Card when purchasing fuel.
At Ralphs - Select option 3 when prompted for discount options at the pump, and your fuel points will remain on your Ralphs rewards Card for future use.
How long do I have to use my fuel points?
Fuel points earned in a given month are available for use through the end of the following calendar month. Points do not combine across months.
Can I choose to use part of my points at the fuel pump?
At Ralphs Fuel Centers, to use a piece of your discount, simply select option 2 (CHANGE AMT) and enter in the amount you wish to use today. Points will come from your prior month’s earnings first if the balance is greater than 100 and the amount entered is available. Otherwise the amount will come from what you have accumulated for this month.
Can I choose to use my older points first?
The fuel pump will always redeem your oldest points first.
Is there a limit to how many fuel points a Customer can redeem at once?
Up to 200 fuel points can be redeemed to earn 20¢ per gallon at Ralphs Fuel Centers and participating Shell Stations in a single transaction for a single purchase of up to 35 gallons of fuel. Credit and debit card fraud prevention policies may limit transactions at the dispenser. Offer can't be combined with any other discounts.
Do I receive additional fuel savings with the Ralphs rewards plus Visa® Card?
Yes. At Ralphs Fuel Centers, new cardholders will receive an additional 25¢ per gallon for the first 3 months after approval, for every fill-up, when redeeming at least 100 fuel points and paying with the Ralphs rewards plus Visa® Card*. After the first 3 months, Ralphs rewards plus Visa® Card cardholders will receive an extra 5¢ per gallon when redeeming 100 or more fuel points and paying with the Ralphs rewards plus Visa® Card.
Does the Ralphs rewards plus Visa® Card give additional discounts on fuel at Shell Stations?
You can pay with your Ralphs rewards plus Visa® Card. However, the extra 5¢ per gallon is only available at Ralphs Fuel Centers when redeeming points and paying with Ralphs rewards plus Visa® Card. To redeem points for fuel savings at Shell Stations, card holders can enter the card number on the back of their Ralphs rewards plus Visa® Card.
How do I keep track of my fuel points?
Your current fuel points balance is located at the bottom of your Ralphs receipt. You may also check your points balance on our website or on the Ralphs mobile app for your iPhone or Android device by registering your Ralphs rewards Card number.

Do I need to register for this program?
Customers can simply use their existing rewards Card to receive these fuel discounts. If you have a Ralphs rewards Card, you have everything you need to start shopping and earning points. If you want to sign up for a Ralphs rewards Card, just visit the Customer Service Desk at your local Ralphs.
